Choosing a theme for your next children’s birthday party, church picnic, or another special event is one of the first steps in the planning process. Many of the remaining choices you will make will depend on this important decision.

You may already have a theme in mind, such as your child’s favorite cartoon character or some other passion they have. If not, you may need to do a little research to discover what theme your child would enjoy most.

Matching Your Theme to Your Bounce House

In many instances, you can rent bounce houses that already come decorated with many of the most popular children’s party themes. For example, if your child is into Disney characters, Sponge Bob Square Pants, or pretty princesses, there are bounce houses that will perfect match these popular party themes.

But if your child’s party theme is something a little less mainstream, you may have to be more creative in matching the bounce house to the party fun. One consideration is colors.

What are the main colors that are associated with your theme? If they are primary colors — such as red, blue, green, yellow and orange — you are in luck because may bounce houses come in these popular colors.

Repeating Your Theme

After you have identified your party’s theme and rented a bounce house that fits this theme, you can then repeat these thematic elements in other aspects of your party. These can include everything from the way the birthday cake is decorated, to the decorations you hang, to the games you play during the event itself.

You can refer to the theme in the invitations you send out to guests. That way, they may be more likely to buy birthday presents that are related to your party’s theme.

Having a theme for your party that is referenced in your bounce house rental and other elements of your party will make your event memorable and enjoyable for the guest of honor as well as all other attendees.
