Our Team

Lieutenant Colonel Dave Grossman

Slate Magazine said, “Grossman cuts such a heroic, omni-competent figure, he could have stepped out of a video game.” He has five patents to his name, has published four novels, two children’s books to include his perennial bestseller on killing with over a half million copies sold and a New York Times best-selling book co-authored with Glenn Beck.

He is a U.S. Army Ranger, a paratrooper and a former West Point Psychology Professor. He has a Black Belt in Hojutsu, the martial art of the firearm and has been inducted into the U.S.A. Martial Arts Hall of Fame.

Colonel Grossman’s research was cited by the President of the United States in a National Address and has testified before the United States Senate and Congress along with numerous state legislatures.

He has served as an expert witness and consultant in State and Federal Courts. He helped train mental health professionals after the Jonesboro school massacre. He was also involved in counseling or court cases in the aftermath of Paducah, Springfield, Littleton and Nickel Mines Amish School massacres.

Colonel Grossman has been called upon to write the entry on “Aggression and Violence” in the Oxford Companion to American Military History. He has three entries in the Academic Press Encyclopedia of Violence, Peace and Conflict and has presented papers before the National Conventions of the American Medical Associations, the American Psychiatric Associations, the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Since his retirement from the United States Army in 1998, Colonel Grossman has been on the road for almost 300 days a year. For over 19 years he has been one of our nation’s leading experts and trainers for law enforcement, military, health providers and school safety organizations.

Colonel Grossman is the director of the Killology Research Group (www.killology.com). In the wake of the terrorist attacks on 9/11/2001 he has written and spoken extensively on the terrorist threat with articles published in the Harvard Journal of Law and Civil Policy. He also has written in many leading law enforcement journals. He has been introduced as a “Life Diplomat” by the American Board for Certification in Homeland Security. Colonel Grossman is also a life member of the American College of Forensic Examiners Institute.

Shane Anderson

Shane’s distinguished career spans over 13 years in Naval Special Warfare. As a SEAL, Shane has served in several specialty capacities including Sniper, Medic, Joint Tactical Air Controller and Multi-Purpose Canine Handler. Shane has five combat deployments including Iraq, Afghanistan, and other countries.

Notable Commands include, SEAL Team Five, SEAL Team One, NSW Group One and Recruit Training Command. He currently serves at the Navy Recruiting District Chicago where he leads recruits preparing to enter the Naval Special Warfare Training Program. He is also the founding member of Tru-Trauma, a company comprised of Naval Special Warfare professionals dedicated to providing leadership development programs to corporations and youth organizations.

Mario Martin

Mario is a retired senior chief corpsman and combat support operator with over a decade of proven internationally diversified combat leadership experience that encompasses all aspects of Naval Special Warfare Operations up to the United States Special Operations Command. He has extensive experience in time sensitive crisis response and emergency planning, while working as Tactical Center Operations Chief in Iraq, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, Central and South America. Mr. Martin has an extensive professional profile including SEAL Team Five Medical and Operations Department Head, Navy Special Warfare Group One Senior Enlisted Medical Advisor, United States Special Operations Command Senior Enlisted Medical Advisor, US Navy Medical Officer Recruiter, Tactical Combat Casualty Care Instructor and the list goes on and on.

Deputy Amir Stephen

Amir has over 23 years of law enforcement experience and more than 20 years of experience as a certified instructor. He is an accomplished professional who has achieved success in the areas of law enforcement instruction and training, hostage negotiation, program development, process improvement and operations management and development.

Amir served as a School Resource Officer and Crime Prevention Specialist. His technical skills include weapons of mass destruction training for the US Department of Homeland Security, prevention and response to suicide bombing incidents, bioterrorism training and risk assessments of schools and public buildings along with creating or reviewing crisis plans. Currently, Amir owns a non-profit Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy that specializes in helping at risk youth and victims of crimes. He is also an Reserve Deputy Sheriff in Monroe County Arkansas.

Sheriff Mike K. Neal

Michael Kent Neal is currently the Sheriff of Monroe County Arkansas. Neal is a former Corporal for Arkansas Game & Fish and was assigned to Lee County. Michael began his career in law enforcement in 1998 as a part time officer for the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department. He served 10 1/2 years with Brinkley Fire and Rescue as Instructor and retired in 2009 as a Captain.

On May 20, 2010 Officer Neal was instrumental in ending a brutal gun battle in West Memphis that resulted in the death of two West Memphis police officers and the wounding of the Crittenden County Sheriff and his chief deputy. Sheriff Neal has received numerous different awards from the May 20th shooting which included: 3 Medals of Valor, the 2011 International officer of the year. On February 20, 2012 Officer Neal was awarded the Congressional Medal of Valor from the President of the United States.

Stephen C. Drum

Navy SEAL Master Chief Drum is a combat-tested Navy SEAL enlisted leader with 25 years of leading and developing high-performing teams. Stephen trained and led U.S. and foreign partner special operations forces on high-risk and strategically vital missions across the globe, including combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

During this time in the SEAL Teams, he trained, mentored, and advised U.S. and Foreign Partner Special Operations Forces at all levels of leadership. Stephen recently co-developed and currently teaches mental toughness training for Navy Basic Training (boot-camp).

Carlos Vargas

Carlos retired from active duty after serving 7 years in the United States Marine Corps Force Recon Company and 13 years with the SEAL Teams. Carlos has spent the majority of his 20 years training for and deploying to combat zones globally. He has worked alongside a broad range of foreign and domestic military, law enforcement and other government agencies to combat terrorism.

He continued to contribute to the growth of the SEAL and Special Warfare Combat Crewman advanced candidates, in his post military career, as a Naval Special Warfare Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape instructor. Carlos put well over 6000 students through basic and advanced tactics training, as well as having trained and consulted broad array of civilian students in multiple tactical and problem-solving methodologies to include abduction management, mitigation techniques and root cause analysis for clients conducting business in High Risk environments globally. He provided services for the VA as a Program Analyst on an engineering resource team to help identify and tackle some of the biggest obstacles in veterans care today. Most recently Carlos has returned from assisting the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior, as a Curriculum Manager and tactics expert, in order to help stand up a new anti-terrorism force as well as a Specialized Maritime preparatory program. Carlos Vargas’s actions, on and off the battlefield have brought honor to his country and his Team. Some of his awards include; 2 Navy/Marine Corps Commendation medal with Valor devices, Army Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal and various other Commendations, just to name a few. Further education includes a Bachelor of Science in Work Force Education. Carlos’s extensive experiences have given him a cutting edge that he is willing to use to assist others to achieve their personal summits.
